Maggie Grace and Maggie Gyllenhaal

Maggie Grace is an American actor who was born Margaret Grace Denig in 1983. Her most well-known roles are Shannon Rutherford, a character on ABC's Lost series and Kim Mills from the Taken trilogy. Born in Worthington Ohio she dropped out of high school in order to relocate to Los Angeles with her mother following her divorce from her parents. Though she struggled financially and in the beginning, she made her acting debut as Rachel's Room's primary character. After earning an Young Artist Award in 2002 for her portrayal of Murder In Greenwich of 15 year young Martha Moxley as a murder victim, Grace was able to win. Grace appeared as Shannon Rutherford on the Lost TV show in 2004. She was the main character for two seasons and won an award for her performance, a Screen Actors Guild Award. Grace decided to concentrate on film after starring opposite Tom Welling's character in The Fog, in 2005. The actress has also appeared on Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club as well in 2007 and Taken alongside Liam Neeson in 2008 as Kim Mills. She reprised this role in Taken 2 (2013) and Taken 3 (2015). The actress also appeared in Alice in Malice in Wonderland which is an updated adaptation that the Lewis Carroll novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace played the role of Shannon for two additional episodes of Lost including the series finale. Grace appeared on Californication's 6th season that aired from 2013 to the year 2014. She portrays Faith who's the star-gazer and a groupie. Hank Moody, played by David Duchovny, falls for her. She is part of Gyllenhaal's family and is the elder cousin of Jake Gyllenhaal. Her career began as a young teenager with small role in films made from her father. Also, she worked alongside her brother in 2001's cult movie Donnie Darko. The year 2002 saw her appeared as a character on Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind. Also, she appeared on Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal was praised by critics for her performances as the lead in the erotic romantic comedy Secretary (2002) and the thriller Sherrybaby (2006) each of which brought her the Golden Globe Award nomination. In 2006, she appeared in numerous commercially successful movies including World Trade Center. However it was her performance in the role of Rachel Dawes that brought her wider attention in The Dark Knight (2008). Her performance in Crazy Heart as a mother who has a child was nominated to the Academy Award Best Supporting Actress. She then was in comedies and dramas which included Nanny McPhee's Big Bang (2010) Hysteria 2011 and Won't Back Down 2012 She also played the role of a Secret Service Agent in White House Down the action-packed thriller released in 2013, as well as a singer in Frank (2014), and The lead in The Kindergarten Teacher, a drama released in 2018. Gyllenhaal's first film as a director and writer was in 2021 with The Lost Daughter, a psycho-drama in which she won an award at the Venice International Film Festival Best Screenplay Award. In addition, she won an Academy Award nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay.
