Singer-songwriter John Denver touched millions of people. He also achieved the status of a superstar with his folk-based pop songs many of them based in Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was born in Roswell in New Mexico. He was enthralled by Colorado and eventually settled in Aspen. Denver's national anthems to his adopted state has drawn a lot of people to Colorado. G. Brown of Colorado Music Hall of Fame, the hall's curator of fame, stated: "I don't believe there any other performer who embodies Colorado in the same way as John Denver." Denver was the first Hall of Fame ever to be inducted. He has become the personification of Colorado for many people across the globe. You meet people in other countries, like New Zealanders and ask them "I come Colorado" and they say "I am from Colorado" and they reply with "Oh John Denver. Brown said. Take Me Home Country Roads written by Bill Danoff and Denver after his brief time with folk bands and was his debut Top 10 solo hit. Danoff composed the track in conjunction with Johnny Cash in mind but the moment Denver was introduced to an earlier version it was clear that it was destined to be an instant hit. The song was recorded by the singer just a few days later when he performed it in front of crowds of enthusiastic fans at Washington D.C.
